Patna, June 17 (IANS) A devastating road accident claimed the lives of three teenage boys in Bihar’s Nalanda district on Wednesday.

The incident occurred near the Ganga Bigha bridge under the jurisdiction of Telhara Police Station, leaving the local community in shock and grief.

The deceased were identified as Ankush Kumar (15), son of Satish Chaudhary; Sunny Kumar (15), son of Raja Chaudhary; and Tannu Kumar (15), son of Manoj Chaudhary.

All three were residents of Kothari village in the Telhara police station area and belonged to the same extended family.

According to family members, the teenagers had left home on a motorcycle to visit Telhara market.

Initial reports suggested that the motorcycle collided with an e-rickshaw near the bridge.

However, police officials said that the speeding motorcycle reportedly went out of control and crashed into a roadside palm tree near Ganga Bigha.

The impact of the crash was severe. One of the boys died on the spot, while the other two sustained critical injuries.

Local residents and police personnel rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident.

The injured teenagers were immediately taken to Model Hospital for treatment.

Doctors at the hospital declared the two injured boys dead upon examination, while the third victim had already succumbed to injuries at the accident site.

Telhara Station House Officer (SHO) Ajit Kumar Tinku said that police reached the spot promptly and shifted the victims to the hospital with the assistance of local residents.

“The three teenagers had left for Telhara market on a motorcycle. The speeding bike lost control and crashed into a roadside palm tree. One youth died on the spot, while the other two died during treatment at Model Hospital. The bodies have been taken into police custody, and post-mortem procedures are being initiated. Further investigation is underway,” the SHO said.

The deaths of the three teenagers from the same family have cast a pall of gloom over Kothari village.

Relatives and villagers gathered at the victims’ homes as news of the tragedy spread, with family members struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
