FICQ elects new executive committee for 2026–2028

BRISBANE, June 29 / INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) has announced the election of its new executive committee for the 2026–2028 term, marking a new chapter in the organisation’s more than 28 years of community service across Queensland.

According to an announcement by FICQ, Dr. Preethi Suraj has been elected president. The new executive team also includes Pradip Gorasia and Miran Ranchhod as vice presidents, Sunita Avadhani as secretary, Parul Mehta as treasurer, Mokhtiar Singh as assistant secretary, Pankaj Agarwal as assistant treasurer, Preetham Krishna as public relations officer and Vinod Manuel as festival and cultural coordinator.

FICQ said the newly elected committee brings together experience, leadership and a shared commitment to serving Queensland’s diverse Indian community through community service, cultural celebrations and stronger collaboration.

The organisation thanked its members, volunteers, supporters and former committee members for their continued dedication and contributions to FICQ’s growth over the past 28 years.

According to FICQ, the new executive committee will focus on strengthening community engagement and expanding initiatives that promote Indian culture, diversity and unity across Queensland during its 2026–2028 term.
