Tejashwi Yadav targets Bihar CM over inflation and unemployment

Patna, June 29 (IANS) The political confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition in Bihar has intensified after Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, describing him as a “rubber-stamp” and a “selected Chief Minister.”

Addressing the media, Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the state government has failed to address key issues, including inflation, unemployment, law and order, and corruption, and accused the administration of protecting influential officials.

Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Samrat Choudhary has been associated with several political parties during his career and does not follow a distinct ideological path.

He alleged that the Chief Minister functions according to directives from the central leadership rather than taking independent decisions.

The RJD leader stated that the Chief Minister merely implements decisions taken elsewhere and questioned the government’s policies regarding land allotments and administrative decisions.

The Leader of the Opposition argued that the government has become disconnected from the concerns of ordinary citizens.

According to him, rising inflation, unemployment, and difficulties faced by young people remain major issues in Bihar.

Tejashwi alleged that youths demanding employment opportunities face police action and that students protesting for jobs have been subjected to lathi charges and legal action.

He accused the government of adopting what he described as a dictatorial approach toward dissent.

The opposition leader further alleged that senior officials linked to various controversies and alleged irregularities have not faced adequate action.

He referred to issues such as the Srijan scam, alleged irregularities in estimates, CAG-related issues, and tender-related controversies.

Tejashwi claimed that influential officials continue to receive protection and that accountability has been lacking in several cases.

The RJD leader stated that he had raised 20 questions for the Chief Minister but had not received satisfactory answers.

He asserted that the government should clearly explain its position on allegations involving senior officials.

“The people of Bihar are closely monitoring these developments and will ultimately judge the government’s performance,” he said.

The allegations have once again brought issues of governance, corruption, employment, and administrative accountability to the forefront of Bihar politics.

The remarks also signal an escalation in political rhetoric between the opposition and the ruling alliance.

As of now, there has been no immediate official response from Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary or the state government regarding the allegations made by Tejashwi Yadav.
