Lucknow, July 3 (IANS) Central Reserve Police Force Director General G.P. Singh on Friday met the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and state police chief for discussions on issues of security and cooperation, said an official.

A message on social media by the CRPF said, “As part of his ongoing Uttar Pradesh tour, DG@crpfindia Shri G P Singh, IPS, met with Shri Shashi Prakash Goyal, IAS, Chief Secretary, UP. The meeting focused on issues of mutual interest between the Government of UP and CRPF.”

In another statement on social media, the CRPF said, “DG, @crpfindia Shri G P Singh, IPS, met with DGP Uttar Pradesh Shri Rajeev Krishna, IPS (@Uppolice) during his ongoing tour to Uttar Pradesh. The leaders held constructive discussions on matters of mutual interest and shared best practices to enhance policing and security cooperation.”

The meetings assume significance in view of the state preparing for Assembly elections around February-March 2027.

Earlier, the BJP announced that National President Nitin Nabin will begin his two-day organisational visit to Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

During the state visit, Nabin will meet senior party leaders and office bearers, interact with BJP public representatives, leaders of the National Democratic Alliance, and prominent personalities from different fields, said a party statement.

The visit of the National President is extremely important for sharpening BJP’s strategy and guiding the newly formed team of the state BJP, said the statement.

Along with strengthening the organisation, Nabin will also address the Shakti Kendra Convenor Conference. This is the first visit of the BJP chief to Uttar Pradesh after the formation of the new state team.

On Saturday, Nabin will arrive at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, where he will be welcomed by party workers.

After this, he will proceed directly to the state BJP headquarters in a roadshow passing through Alambagh, T.N. Chaturvedi Chauraha, Charbagh, Deendayal Smritika, Maharana Pratap Chauraha and Burlington Chauraha.

Along the way, the BJP chief will be welcomed at several places. Upon reaching the office, Nabin will hold an important organisational meeting with state BJP office bearers, regional presidents, state morcha presidents, and district presidents, said the statement.

During the two-day visit, Nabin is expected to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and also hold separate discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
