Amaravati, July 12 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday congratulated the Indian team on winning the silver medal in the Women’s Compound Team event at the Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Madrid.

The Chief Minister congratulated Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi.

“We are especially proud of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, a daughter of Andhra Pradesh, whose continued excellence on the international stage inspires young athletes across our state. Through APEX 2036, we remain committed to nurturing many more champions like her who will bring glory to Andhra Pradesh and India. Wishing Team India continued success in the tournament,” Chandrababu Naidu posted on social media platform X.

Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy also congratulated the members of the Indian women’s compound archery team for winning the silver medal at the Archery World Cup Stage-4 currently underway in Madrid, Spain.

He said that Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Pruthika Pradeep, and Chikitha Taniparthi displayed exceptional talent.

“These athletes, who have held India’s flag high on the global stage, serve as an inspiration to all. Reaching the final after defeating South Korea in the semi-finals is a magnificent achievement. Winning the silver medal marks another significant step forward for Indian archery talent,” he added.

The Minister expressed hope that they would bring home even more international medals for the country.

He extended his best wishes to the Indian women’s archery team.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday congratulated Kranti Gaud on becoming the first woman to have her name etched on the Lord’s Honours Board after claiming a five-wicket haul in the one-off Test against England.

“It is a season of football but on the cricket field, making entire India proud with her incredible performance is Kranti Gaud. So just for a while let us glance away from the men’s football and cheer our girls in blue on a different field,” Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wrote on X.
