Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has launched the official poster for FICQ Diwali 2026, marking the start of the countdown to one of the state’s major celebrations of Indian culture, community and unity.
The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) said the launch marked a significant moment ahead of the annual Festival of Lights celebrations, which bring together communities across Queensland.
FICQ Diwali 2026 will be held on November 6 at King George Square in Brisbane CBD, with the celebrations scheduled from 11 am to 10 pm.
The event will feature cultural performances and festivities, offering an opportunity for the Indian community and the wider public to come together and celebrate Diwali.
FICQ said the celebration would showcase culture, community and unity, while adding to Brisbane’s vibrant multicultural character.
The organisation has invited the community to save the date and join the celebrations, with the poster launch formally beginning the countdown to this year’s Diwali festival.
