The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) marked its 40th anniversary with celebrations highlighting the growing economic and business relationship between Australia and India, with a focus on strengthening ties between India and Queensland.
Consul General of India, Brisbane, Neetu Bhatotia, addressed the anniversary celebrations, which brought together representatives from government, business, industry, academia and the Indian diaspora.
Queensland Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates MP delivered the keynote address, highlighting the development of the India-Queensland relationship and the Queensland Government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
Representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Centre for Australia-India Relations, Trade and Investment Queensland, Business Chamber Queensland, industry and academia also participated in the celebrations.
The event also brought together members of the Indian diaspora, who joined the anniversary programme and reaffirmed the importance of deepening Australia-India business and economic partnerships.
