Rick Maddison had been holed up in a “shed-type structure” on a property near Gatton overnight and at 11am on Tuesday morning ran into nearby bushland, police said.
The police chase started on Monday afternoon, sparked by the shooting death of Senior Constable Brett Forte, and a father of 3. The Toowoomba tactical crime squad member died after he tried to intercept the gunman at a traffic stop in Lockyer Valley yesterday, just before 2pm.
