Tirupati, July 1 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that Andhra Pradesh is a step ahead of other states in green energy production.

He said the state government formulated plans to generate 160 gigawatts of power in the green energy sector and has already signed agreements for 100 gigawatts.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for Hero MotoCorp’s “Global Parts Centre 2.0” at Madannapalem in Satyavedu, Tirupati district.

He claimed that the government is taking revolutionary decisions to foster industrial growth in the state and is currently implementing ‘Speed of Doing Business’ protocols.

“To cater to industrial needs, we have road infrastructure, rail, port, and air connectivity. We have initiated measures to supply water for industries alongside agriculture. We are making farmers partners in the state’s ongoing development,” he said.

Naidu said that going beyond just signing agreements, the government is taking all necessary steps to enable industries to commence production.

“We will provide all the infrastructure required by industries. Companies like Google and others are setting up data centres in Visakhapatnam but are proceeding cautiously regarding data centres, keeping resource availability in mind,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister urged the company to initiate the plant expansion, involving an investment of Rs 3,200 crore as previously announced.

Stating that women constitute 40 per cent of Hero’s workforce, Chandrababu Naidu noted that women from Andhra Pradesh are hardworking and possess a quick learning aptitude.
