Kolkata, July 4 (IANS) Fresh allegations of sexual assault have emerged against former Trinamool Congress MLA Saokat Molla, who is currently in judicial custody in connection with a bomb blast case, after two women came forward on Saturday to narrate their harrowing experiences of rape and torture allegedly committed by the politician and his associates years ago.

One of the two women told a section of media persons that she was raped for a year by Saokat Molla and his associates in Jibantala area in South 24 Parganas district after they kidnapped her son and kept him with them for a year. She alleged that she was forced to meet the Trinamool leader who raped her using the child as bait.

Outside a court in Kolkata, the victim said, “The incident happened in March 2019. Saokat Molla kidnapped my son. My son was kept in detention for a year. And for a year, I was continuously tortured. I only went to him for my son. Whenever he wanted, he would send a car. I had to go. Then he would rape me. This continued for a year.”

At that time, the victim also approached the administration, but she received no help. The victim said, “I approached the administration. The administrative officials said that I will be killed if I complained.”

The victim further alleged that she is still being watched. Many of Saokat’s associates are outside who are still threatening to kill her.

The victim said, “We are still being watched. We cannot go outside. Saokat’s family is still threatening to kill us. I finally told Didi (a female BJP worker from the complainant’s village, who is also a victim of torture).”

This victim, the female BJP worker, said, “It was November 7, 2015. On that day, I was stripped naked. The brutal torture they inflicted on me is beyond words. I was the BJP secretary (local unit) at that time. I ran a small school. I protected the honour of the little girls. That was my crime.”

The victims’ lawyer said, “They have decided to lodge a complaint today because at that time, no complaint could be filed against Saokat Molla. Those days, their misdeeds had to be accepted. They would keep a list. On which day, which woman was needed. They would send a car there on a specific day. They had to go. Even school teachers were not left out.”
