Bhajan Lal Sharma congratulates Himanta Biswa Sarma on taking oath as Assam Chief Minister

Jaipur, May 12 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Assam government held in Guwahati on Tuesday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Sharma congratulated Himanta Biswa Sarma on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Assam and extended his best wishes to the newly inducted Ministers.

He expressed confidence that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the “double-engine” government in Assam would continue working with commitment toward the welfare of all sections of society and set new benchmarks in development.

During his visit, CM Sharma met Himanta Biswa Sarma, presented him with a bouquet, and conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on assuming office once again as the Assam Chief Minister.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, members of the Union Cabinet, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers, and public representatives from several NDA-ruled states were also present at the event.

In a statement issued after the ceremony, the Rajasthan Chief Minister said that he felt “immense joy and pride” in participating in the historic occasion.

“It was a matter of immense joy and pride to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of the Assam government held in Guwahati today. This historic mandate is a symbol of the trust of the people and the commitment of the BJP government to public service, under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, the guidance of the Union Home Minister @AmitShah ji, and the organisational leadership of BJP President @NitinNabin ji.”

“I am fully confident that under the leadership of the Chief Minister @himantabiswa ji, the new government will give fresh momentum to Assam’s development and further strengthen the resolve for a prosperous, secure, and self-reliant Assam. Heartiest congratulations to the Chief Minister ji and the entire Council of Ministers, and best wishes for a bright tenure,” Rajasthan CM Sharma said on his official X account.

The Rajasthan Chief Minister also added that he was confident the new government under CM Sarma’s leadership would accelerate Assam’s development and strengthen the vision of building a prosperous, secure, and self-reliant state.

He also extended his congratulations and best wishes to the entire Council of Ministers in Assam for a successful tenure.
