Patna, July 15 (IANS) Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made a series of major announcements on education, employment, and women’s empowerment during his visit to Bhagalpur on Wednesday, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to expanding higher education and creating job opportunities within Bihar.
The Chief Minister inaugurated a newly established degree college at Kashil Kharba village in the Gauradih block of Bhagalpur district.
He said the government is prioritising the expansion of higher education infrastructure in rural areas so that students can access quality education closer to their homes.
On the occasion, Choudhary also remotely launched the process of granting recognition to 211 colleges across Bihar. He said the initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s higher education system and ensure greater access to quality education for students.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister announced that the state government would begin work on establishing new industries in Bihar this year. He said the move aims to create local employment opportunities and reduce the migration of young people to other states in search of jobs.
According to Choudhary, the government is simultaneously focusing on strengthening both the education sector and industrial development to make Bihar economically self-reliant.
Emphasising women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister said financial assistance has already been transferred to the bank accounts of around 1.81 crore women under various government schemes.
He further announced that on July 25, marking the completion of the government’s first 100 days in office, financial assistance would also be credited to the accounts of eligible women who have not yet received benefits under the scheme.
Reiterating the government’s broader vision, Choudhary said that sustained efforts are underway to build a developed and self-reliant Bihar by focusing on education, employment generation, industrial growth, and women’s economic empowerment.
The announcements were welcomed by students, parents, and residents. Several ministers, elected representatives, and senior administrative officials were present at the event.
