Bihar CM reaffirms commitment to good governance, crime-free state

Patna, May 11 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, on Monday asserted that his government is fully committed to ensuring good governance, strong law and order, and rapid development across the state.

Addressing an event during the inauguration of Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha Path in Patna, the Chief Minister emphasised that a robust law and order system is the foundation for industrial growth and investment in Bihar.

He stated that without a secure environment, attracting industries would not be possible, and therefore, governance must be further strengthened.

The Chief Minister delivered a strong message on crime control, saying anyone challenging the police will face action within 48 hours.

“No criminal will be spared, regardless of identity, caste or religion, and this will not influence law enforcement,” he said.

He reiterated that the government’s primary goal is to build a crime-free Bihar, adding that there will be zero compromise on maintaining law and order.

According to Samrat Choudhary, ensuring peace and security is essential for attracting industries, generating employment and encouraging investment.

He noted that administrative officials and police personnel have been instructed to remain constantly alert and proactive to maintain stability and public safety.

The Chief Minister also highlighted ongoing infrastructure development in Patna, particularly projects aimed at tackling waterlogging and improving urban facilities.

He highlighted the ongoing and completed projects, including the Mandiri Drain Project (now inaugurated), Saidpur Drain Project, the Rajiv Nagar Drain Project, the expansion of road networks, and the construction of modern stormwater drainage systems.

These projects are expected to significantly reduce waterlogging issues in the capital city.

Recalling his tenure as Urban Development Minister in 2014, Samrat Choudhary mentioned a pilot project launched in the Digha area focussed on modern drainage and road construction.

At the time, concerns were raised about the maintenance and cleaning of the drainage systems.

Addressing those concerns, the government has now introduced special arrangements for regular cleaning, issued strict directives to officials, and ensured zero tolerance for negligence.

The Chief Minister concluded by reiterating that law and order, infrastructure development, and efficient governance are interconnected pillars of progress.

He expressed confidence that a secure and well-governed Bihar will open doors to new economic opportunities and sustainable growth.
