Patna, Aug 7 (IANS) Political activity within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intensified following the dissolution of all party committees across Bihar.

Amid the organisational overhaul, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, has welcomed the decision and advised party leader Tejashwi Yadav on forming the new organisational structure.

In a social media post on Friday, Singapore‑based Rohini Acharya said the decision to dissolve all RJD organisational units and cells should have been taken much earlier.

She urged the party leadership to give priority to veteran leaders, dedicated workers and committed supporters of Lalu Prasad Yadav while constituting the new committees.

Rohini said Lalu Prasad Yadav had always worked for the social, economic and political empowerment of marginalised sections of society and had consistently valued party workers.

She asserted that the RJD could be strengthened only by following the ideals and organisational principles established by the party founder.

In her post, she said the reconstituted organisation should provide opportunities to leaders and workers who had served the party with loyalty and dedication over the years.

She also stressed the importance of including grassroots leaders with a strong understanding of the organisation.

The organisational reshuffle comes in the wake of the RJD’s defeat in the recent Bankipur Assembly by‑election, after which signs of internal differences within the party became increasingly visible.

Public exchanges between RJD MLA Bhai Virendra and the party’s chief spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav had added to speculation about internal discord.

Earlier, senior party spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari had also joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the by‑election.

On Thursday, RJD State President Mangni Lal Mandal announced the dissolution of all organisational units – from the state level to district, block and panchayat committees – as well as all party cells.

The move is widely believed to have been taken in the direction of RJD Working President Tejashwi Yadav as part of an organisational restructuring exercise.

The party is now expected to begin the process of constituting new committees.

The RJD has been facing organisational challenges following its recent electoral setbacks.

The party’s performance in the last Bihar Assembly election and subsequent political developments have fuelled discussions about the need for structural reforms and renewed leadership at the grassroots level.

Rohini Acharya’s remarks are being seen as an endorsement of the ongoing reorganisation while also outlining her expectations for the composition of the party’s new leadership team.
