BJP accuses Akhilesh Yadav of links with Ram Temple theft accused

New Delhi, July 4 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Ajay Alok on Saturday alleged that one of the accused in the Ram Temple embezzlement case, Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, had “phone conversations” with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav.

He also said there are more revelations in the case yet to be made.

Speaking to IANS, the BJP leader claimed: “The actions of the Samajwadi Party are gradually being exposed. It is also being reported that Tinnu Yadav had several phone conversations with Akhilesh Yadav. As more layers are uncovered, the country will come to know the truth about who was behind all these thefts.”

“There are many things that are yet to be revealed. They (Samajwadi Party) have not been able to tolerate the anger of the saints and seers (in the past) nor will they be able to do so in the future,” he added.

Further, Ajay Alok launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, calling him the “biggest atheist and opposer of Lord Ram”.

A controversy erupted after Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, while participating in a ‘Sadbuddhi Yajna’, announced on Friday that he would file a lawsuit over the alleged irregularities in donations collected for the construction of the Ram Temple.

He further stated that if the court found financial irregularities in the use of the donation funds, he would seek the return of his contribution and donate it to another recognised religious institution or to a Shankaracharya’s trust.

Reacting to it, the BJP leader said: “He (Singh) should be ashamed for announcing that he will file a lawsuit seeking the return of the money he had donated for the construction of the Ram Temple. Let him show the receipt of that donation amount, get it printed in a newspaper, then the Ram Mandir Trust will ensure the return of his donation, with interest…because the donations made by such atheists should not reach the feet of Lord Ram.”

During the same event, the Congress leader had dismissed allegations that he was anti-religion, saying he had always followed the Sanatan tradition, regularly observed religious rituals and had undertaken the Narmada Parikrama.
