New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) Former MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Tuesday attended a meeting of political parties convened by Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Kumar on the issue of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Accompanied by advocate Sanket Gupta, Bidhuri assured the CEO that BJP-appointed Block Level Agents will extend all possible support to the election office in the SIR work.

Bidhuri said that the BJP believes the names of all bogus voters, dead voters, and infiltrators should be deleted from the voters’ list to ensure free and fair elections.

In another development, the Delhi BJP condemned the social media post uploaded by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar and his critical press statement regarding the fire department personnel arriving late to tackle a blaze in New Ashok Nagar Police Station, which is a bundle of lies.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, “The way Delhi AAP leaders accuse the Fire Brigade of arriving late whenever a fire breaks out anywhere in Delhi is an insult to the bravery of fire brigade personnel.”

He said through his statement that MLA Kuldeep Kumar has made himself a subject of ridicule.

The Delhi BJP spokesperson also posted a counter-response on the social media platform X in this regard, stating that MLA Kuldeep Kumar claimed that a fire had broken out in the malkhana (storeroom) of New Ashok Nagar Police Station, whereas the fire occurred in some seized vehicles parked beside the police station.

Kapoor said the AAP MLA claimed that the Fire Brigade arrived after one hour, whereas the tenders reached the spot within four minutes of receiving the call, at 1.25 p.m., and the fire was brought under control by 1.50 p.m.

The Delhi BJP spokesperson said that Fire Brigade personnel risk their lives every day to save people during fire incidents, but their criticism by Delhi AAP leaders is a big demoralising factor.
