The organisers said the event attracted participants of all age groups and highlighted yoga’s growing popularity as a holistic practice that supports physical fitness, mental well-being and a healthy lifestyle. The programme also reflected the role of yoga in fostering community engagement and cultural understanding.
According to the Consulate General, the celebration was attended by Councillor Penny Wolff and Councillor Sandy Landers, who joined participants in recognising the contribution of yoga to healthier and more connected communities. The organisers thanked both councillors for supporting the event.
The Consulate General of India in Brisbane said the gathering reflected the enduring appeal of yoga as one of India’s contributions to global wellness.
