Canberra pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi on 156th birth anniversary

The High Commission of India in Canberra observed the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, coinciding with the International Day of Non-Violence, with a dignified ceremony held at Glebe Park.

The High Commissioner, along with officials from the mission and members of the Indian community, offered floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, reflecting on his lasting legacy of peace, compassion, and non-violence. The gathering served as a moment of reflection on Gandhi’s timeless teachings and their relevance in fostering global understanding and goodwill.
