Bhubaneswar, May 24 (IANS) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday visited major manufacturing facilities at the Industrial Parks in Khordha district.

According to an official statement, CM Majhi’s visit highlighted the government’s robust ecosystem support, spanning employment-intensive sectors to high-tech strategic manufacturing.

The Chief Minister first visited Trimetro Garments (EPIC Group), a premier Hong Kong-headquartered apparel manufacturer at Kalibeti Industrial Area of Khordha. Marking its first footprint in India, the company has set up a state-of-the-art facility in Khordha district with an investment of approximately Rs 376 crore. The project progressed from its groundbreaking on April 3, 2025, to inauguration in less than a year.

Manufacturing garments for the globally renowned fashion brand Uniqlo, this unit has placed Odisha prominently on the global apparel manufacturing map. The project has generated significant employment potential with over 7,000 jobs, the majority of which are held by women.

CM Majhi later paid a visit to the Mundamba Industrial Park facility of Anadrone Systems Private Limited, a critical player in strategic defence manufacturing. With an investment of Rs 96.86 crore and an employment potential of 165 people, the company manufactures advanced defence systems.

The CM reviewed operations and witnessed live demonstrations of cutting-edge defence equipment, including Aerial Targets, Target Launchers and Trailers, Ground Support Equipment, and Ground Stations, currently being fabricated at the Khordha facility.

At both the industrial units, the Chief Minister held detailed interactions with the promoters, senior officials and employees, and reviewed the operations, production activities, employment generation potential and future expansion plans of the establishments.

Interacting with the employees, Majhi laid detailed emphasis on the development of necessary facilities and amenities for workers and employees in industrial areas. He advised the management authorities of the industrial establishments to focus on skill development of Odisha’s youth and accord maximum priority to local employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government would ensure all necessary measures for the safety, security and welfare of women employees working in the industrial units.

He also announced that modern hostel facilities would be developed for employees, while EV bus services would be introduced to make their daily commute easier, safer and environmentally sustainable.

“The talented youths of Odisha will no longer have to leave their families and native places to work as ordinary labourers in other states in search of livelihood opportunities. Providing them with dignified and quality employment opportunities within Odisha itself remains a top priority and a key commitment of the government,” said CM Majhi.

He also asserted that the government is closely and meticulously monitoring the progress of every industrial project to ensure timely implementation and maximum benefits for the people of the state.
