OUTGOING seniors at a Brisbane high school were given a farewell they won’t forget, with their teachers having a bit of fun – at their expense – before going their separate ways.
Graduating students at Northside Christian College at Everton Park were asked to read a script prepared for them as part of a video, which they thought was a farewell to their school.
Our Year 12 students thought they were just filming a special interview for the school, but little did they know what was going on in the background,” the school posted to its Facebook account.
“On behalf of all our teachers and staff, we wish our graduating Class of 2018 the very best, and hope that we do get back together again.”
As students recited how great their teachers were in the hilarious five minute video, staff were in the background, generally cavorting, lip-synching, dad-dancing, and twerking – at times dressed in animal onesies – as the oblivious students dutifully read their scripts.
The “musical photobombs” were performed by enthusiastic if not rhythmically-gifted teachers to the tune of George Michael’s Careless Whisper, Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye and more.
The video even featured a group of teachers in onesies mouthing Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, along with the text “We have no idea how he (the student) didn’t notice us”.
‘The playful video was uploaded on Thursday and has more than 2000 shares and 1000 comments on Facebook.
The farewell clip finished with the message which most teachers will be feeling this week. “Dear Year 12s, despite what we sang, we will actually miss you!”
