New Delhi, July 5 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan organised in the Hari Nagar, Janakpuri and Rajouri Garden Assembly constituencies and addressed public gatherings.

Highlighting the transformative development, good governance, welfare initiatives for the poor and unprecedented progress in infrastructure achieved across the country over the past 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said that the vision of a Viksit Bharat is now gaining fresh momentum through the mission of building a Viksit Delhi.

The Chief Minister said that over the last 12 years, India has established a new identity on the global stage.

“Today, the country is setting new benchmarks in every sector, including a strong economy, modern infrastructure, the digital revolution, women’s empowerment, social security, healthcare, education and welfare for the poor,” said CM Gupta.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the government has ensured that the benefits of development reach even the last person. She said that the Double-Engine Government in Delhi is working with the same vision. The government’s objective is not merely to make announcements but to ensure the timely and transparent implementation of every scheme.

Over the past few months, the Delhi government has taken decisive steps in several areas, including the Clean Yamuna Campaign, air pollution control, improvements in water supply and sewerage systems, strengthening roads and drainage networks, development of health and education infrastructure, the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy, green energy, large-scale plantation drives and digital governance.

The Chief Minister said that the dream of a developed Delhi can be realised only when the benefits of development reach every section of society.

With this objective, the government is giving the highest priority to public participation and making every policy and scheme citizen-centric. She said the government is continuously working for the holistic development of the capital, with transparency, accountability and good governance as its guiding principles.

The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government is carrying out a comprehensive campaign to build a pollution-free, clean and green capital.

Initiatives such as the Clean Yamuna Campaign, the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy-2026, the Winter Action Plan, the ‘Clean Air-Healthy Delhi’ project, the Green Drive under which 70 lakh saplings are being planted and the promotion of solar energy are all part of this broader vision.

She said that building a developed Delhi will be possible not through the efforts of the government alone, but through public participation.

She said the government is also continuously working to promote employment, skill development and innovation for the youth, while advancing women’s empowerment, ensuring dignity for senior citizens, improving the welfare of the poor and underprivileged and expanding better civic amenities.

Several important decisions are being taken to make Delhi a safe, clean, modern and attractive capital for investment, she added.
