New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Tuesday reviewed the Summer Action Plan during a visit to the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at the NDMC’s headquarters and stressed citizen-centric urban governance, an official said.

The Governor praised the ICCC and said that the technology-driven model can be emulated by civic agencies across the country.

In a post on X, the L-G said, “Visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at Palika Kendra to review the Summer Action Plan and ongoing heatwave mitigation measures.”

“As the digital nerve centre of the capital, the ICCC uses IoT-based systems to integrate services – from water management to environmental monitoring. This technology enabled model of governance has potential for replication in urban local bodies across the country to improve civic delivery,” he said.

As we move towards Viksit Bharat, Delhi’s role remains central, with New Delhi symbolising that vision, he said.

“While the technological capabilities are commendable, the real priority shall be strong on-ground execution to protect vulnerable communities and frontline workers. We are committed to supporting and strengthening resilient and citizen-centric urban governance,” he said.

Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor stressed the empowerment of women while addressing the 102nd Foundation Day celebrations of Indraprastha College for Women – Samanvay 2026.

In a message on X, he said, “Reflecting on the vision of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodiJi, who emphasises that the progress of humanity is incomplete without the empowerment of women, it is inspiring to witness the students of this historic institution embracing an era of women-led, modern, and knowledge-driven development.”

During the event, the L-G encouraged the students to strive for meaningful impact in society. “Your education equips you to lead, and your confidence will shape the path toward a Viksit Delhi and a Viksit Bharat,” he said.

In another post on X, the L-G shared his experience of an impromptu interaction with school students next to his Lok Niwas office.

“Stepped out of Lok Niwas for some famous ‘Fateh ki Kachori’, but the real highlight was a chance interaction with cheerful students and their parents heading home after school. Around St. Xavier’s School, the spontaneous energy and bright smiles of Delhi’s children were indeed refreshing. These candid moments are a powerful reminder of why we remain committed to building a vibrant and promising future for our capital,” he wrote on X.
