New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) As the ambit of the probe into the donation theft case at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple widens, with more suspects being grilled for alleged involvement, the saints and seers have affirmed faith in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, asserting that those having sinned will be brought to book and given the strictest punishment.
Various priests of Ayodhya also backed Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)’s international president Alok Kumar’s statement, where he sought to ‘distance’ the Hindutva outfit from the Ram Temple Trust’s functioning.
Alok Kumar, speaking to newsmen earlier in the day, said that the VHP bears no responsibility for the recent decisions made by the Ram Mandir Trust, stating that its role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement had concluded after the temple was constructed at Ram Lalla’s birthplace.
The saints and seers admitted a grave lapse on the part of the Trust but asserted that it was at its own insistence that an SIT was formed, and after the investigation concludes, no guilty will be spared.
Mahant Himanshu Das said, “What he (Alok Kumar) said is absolutely true. The Trust is doing its work and has issued instructions for all investigations to be carried out, and the investigations are indeed underway. Whoever is found guilty, regardless of who they are, will receive the strictest possible punishment.”
Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das Maharaj said, “Alok Kumar has spoken the truth. And look, devotees of Lord Ram have faith in the investigation, and the truth is coming out. New revelations are continuously emerging regarding the Ram Temple. Whoever has committed theft, and even the mastermind behind the thieves, will not be spared.”
Mahant Sitaram Das of Saket Bhavan Temple said, “Alok Kumar’s statement is a highly commendable one. Trust is cooperating with SIT’s investigation. As directed by the SIT, cases have been registered against the accused, and money has also been recovered from them. The Trust is committed to its moral responsibility and is cooperating in every aspect of the investigation.
“Whoever is found guilty will be punished. Not even a single person will be spared. Swift and punitive action will be taken against all of them. And, you will see that bulldozers are coming to raze properties acquired with stolen wealth,” he added.
