New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) The BJP on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut over his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the opposition INDIA bloc of repeatedly targeting the Prime Minister because it has failed to challenge him electorally.

BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari took to X to condemn Raut’s comments, saying the opposition’s criticism of the Prime Minister amounted to disrespecting the mandate of millions of Indians.

“Rahul Gandhi’s another favourite minion is back to abusing PM Modi simply because he can’t defeat him electorally! Sanjay Raut calls PM Modi Aghori! Every insult to PM Modi is an insult to 140 crore Indians who trust PM MODI’s leadership. The fate is for everyone for UBT to see : Eternal Loss!” Bhandari posted on X.

“CONGRESS AND ITS NOT SO CALLED ALLIES HAVE GONE MAD IN PM MODI HATE!” he added.

In a video message, the BJP leader alleged that leaders of the INDIA bloc were targeting Prime Minister Modi to protect their political interests and family-based politics.

“The entire INDI alliance is insulting Prime Minister Modi because they want to save their families and political interests. Whether it is Sanjay Raut or any other opposition leader, they are not just insulting PM Modi, they are insulting the 140 crore people of India who have repeatedly chosen him as their Prime Minister. They draw inspiration from divisive and destructive figures from history like Aurangzeb, Ghazni,” Bhandari said.

The BJP’s response came after remarks made by Raut during an interaction with reporters in Pune, where he launched a broadside against the Prime Minister and the BJP leadership.

Raut alleged that “there can be no cruel and ruthless leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country” and claimed that since the politics of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah began, “political perversion” in the country had reached its peak.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP also claimed that there was growing discontent within the BJP, alleging that many leaders remained silent due to fear of central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
