Patna, June 19 (IANS) A fresh political controversy has emerged in Bihar after an FIR was registered against former Bihar minister and Janshakti Janata Dal national president Tej Pratap Yadav at Patliputra police station in Patna on the directions of a court. The case was filed by Akash Yadav, former state president of the Chhatra RJD and brother of Anushka Yadav, who has been publicly linked to Tej Pratap Yadav.

Police have initiated an investigation into the allegations.

According to ASP (Law and Order) Divyanjali Jaiswal, the complainant has alleged that he received death threats and has submitted an audio recording as evidence.

Police say the threats were allegedly made through a phone call originating from a U.S.-based number and that all aspects of the complaint are being verified.

As per the FIR, the alleged incident took place on June 6, when Tej Pratap Yadav and his associate Motilal Yadav allegedly visited Akash Yadav’s residence in Patliputra area while he was away on a pilgrimage at Khatu Shyam.

The complaint alleges that they attempted to enter the house forcibly and threatened family members present there.

Akash Yadav has further alleged that threats were made regarding his family and that he later received phone calls from Motilal Yadav and another individual who allegedly identified himself as a member of a criminal gang.

According to the complaint, the caller warned him against speaking publicly against the former minister.

Responding to the FIR, Tej Pratap Yadav strongly denied all accusations and described the case as politically motivated and entirely fabricated.

In a detailed statement on his official X handle, he asserted that the complaint was filed out of personal vendetta after legal notices had allegedly been issued regarding the complainant’s conduct.

He maintained that the allegations were intended to damage his public image and political standing.

Tej Pratap stated that he has always respected democratic values, the rule of law, and constitutional institutions.

He accused his detractors of misusing legal processes to spread falsehoods and engage in character assassination.

He also said that he has complete faith in the judiciary and expressed confidence that the truth would emerge through evidence and due legal process.

The former minister indicated that he would pursue all available legal remedies against those he believes are attempting to tarnish his reputation.

Police officials have emphasized that the FIR has been registered and that the allegations, recordings, and other evidence submitted by the complainant are being examined.

Investigators are expected to verify the authenticity of the calls and other claims before deciding on further action.

The case has attracted significant political attention due to the high-profile individuals involved, and further developments are likely as the investigation progresses.
