Three patients in total have been transported to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Coolum this afternoon.
The female motorist who was trapped in her vehicle for more than an hour was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital while three other patients were transported by ambulance to Nambour Hospital.
4.20PM: The female motorist trapped in a vehicle after a multi-vehicle crash on Yandina Coolum Road has been freed.
It took fire crews approximately an hour to free the woman using hydraulic cutting equipment.
A rescue helicopter is on scene and the patient is expected to be airlifted shortly.
3.15PM: Emergency services are responding to a three-vehicle crash on the Coast with reports one of the motorists involved are trapped in the wreckage.
The crash occurred about 3pm on Yandina Coolum Rd, Coolum Beach.
A rescue helicopter has been called to the scene with hydraulic cutting equipment being used to free the trapped motorist.
A QAS ambulance spokeswoman said at least three people were being assessed by paramedics with one still entrapped in their vehicle.
Lanes in both directions at the crash site are blocked and long delays are expected.
