Raipur, June 15 (IANS) The monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is set to commence on July 13 and will continue until July 17, spanning five sittings.

According to the official notification, financial and other government business will be transacted during this brief but significant session. The schedule outlines that each day from July 13 to July 16 will feature “Question Hour” followed by official business.

On the concluding day, July 17, the House will devote its final two-and-a-half hours to private business, allowing private resolutions and Bills to be taken up alongside the regular agenda. Despite its short duration, the session is expected to be lively and politically charged.

The opposition Congress is preparing to corner the ruling BJP on a range of pressing issues, including fertilisers, seeds, irrigation, electricity supply, water distribution, and education. These subjects are likely to dominate the debates, reflecting the concerns of farmers and citizens across the state.

Meanwhile, the government is gearing up to push through its key proposals and agenda items. With only five days available, the administration is expected to prioritise financial matters and other official business, ensuring that essential decisions are passed within the limited timeframe.

Observers anticipate heated exchanges between the treasury and opposition benches, as both sides seek to assert their positions on matters of governance and public welfare.

The ruling party will aim to showcase its achievements and defend its policies, while the opposition will highlight shortcomings and demand accountability. Although brief, the monsoon session carries weight in shaping the political narrative of the state.

The combination of pointed questions, spirited debates, and crucial legislative decisions ensures that the proceedings will be closely watched.

As the Assembly convenes, attention will be focused not only on the government’s ability to advance its agenda but also on the opposition’s effectiveness in raising issues that resonate with the public.

The five-day session, beginning July 13, promises to be a defining moment in Chhattisgarh’s legislative calendar, underscoring the vitality of democratic debate and the importance of addressing the state’s pressing challenges.
