Four women and a child have been taken to hospital after a four-car, one truck crash on the Bruce Hwy.
Emergency services were called to Forest Glen about 12.33pm after reports of the incident, which forced police to divert traffic through Sippy Downs.
An 18-year-old woman with abdominal pain and a woman in her mid-20s with shoulder pain have been taken to Nambour General Hospital.
A girl in her mid-teens, a child with “unknown injuries” and a woman in her mid-20s with non-life threatening injuries have been taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
All five patients are in stable conditions.
Earlier reports from a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman indicated the child had not suffered any injuries, but this has since been revised.
Traffic is backed up more than 3.5kms in the area, but both lanes are now open.

Paramedics are treating two teenage girls, one with abdominal pain and the other with a leg injury and two women in their 20s, one with shoulder pain and one with non-life threatening injuries.
A child was also assessed, but was found to have no injuries.
A police spokesman has advised the outside southbound lane is open, but the other is blocked.
Officers are on scene diverting traffic off at Forest Glen to the tourist drive at Sippy Downs.
Traffic is now backed up almost 5km with drivers urged to be patient and avoid the area if possible.
