Gold Coast, May 14 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

Somerset College student Abhilasha Sarmah has been named Miss Teen Galaxy Australia 2026 at the Australia Galaxy Pageants, earning the opportunity to represent Australia at the international finals in the Bahamas.

A Year 10 student, Abhilasha is actively involved in debating, public speaking and the arts, while also serving on the Gold Coast Junior Council with a focus on youth leadership and community engagement.

She described pageantry as a platform for confidence-building, self-expression and creating positive impact within the community.

“Australia Galaxy Pageants has given me the confidence to lead, the courage to speak, and the purpose to make a difference,” Abhilasha said.

In addition to her pageant achievements, she is currently preparing a poetry collection titled Love Letters to My Melancholy, featuring her original writings.

The Australia Galaxy Pageants 2026 titleholders also include Alexis as Junior Miss Galaxy Australia, Cleo as Miss Galaxy Australia, Haley as Ms. Galaxy Australia and Charlotte as Mrs. Galaxy Australia.

Organisers said Abhilasha would represent Australia internationally while promoting values of empowerment, resilience and community spirit.
