New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) The government has convened the Third Preparatory Meeting of the BRICS Women Track under India’s BRICS Chairship to prepare for the BRICS Women Working Group Meeting and the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting from July 6 to July 9, according to an official statement.

The virtual meeting held under the theme ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’ was chaired by Anil Malik, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development.

It focused on advancing discussions on the priority areas and key outcomes, including the Digital Repository of Best Practices and the BRICS Women’s Capacity Building Guidelines, the statement from the Ministry of Women and Child Development said.

BRICS Member Countries shared their valuable inputs and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative and consensus-based outcomes.

Member countries congratulated India on its BRICS Chairship, appreciated the progress made under the Women Track and expressed their continued support for strengthening cooperation on women’s empowerment.

The Chairman thanked all participating delegations for their constructive contributions and reiterated India’s commitment to fostering practical partnerships that promote women-led development across BRICS nations.

The government earlier this week said that the BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry delegation met with Union MoS for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh to discuss strengthening industry‑led engagement across BRICS and BRICS Plus.

The delegation discussed stronger engagement through innovation, startups, emerging technologies, research collaboration and entrepreneurship, the statement from the Ministry of Science & Technology.

Dr. Jitendra Singh said that India’s growing stature as a global innovation hub and its leadership in emerging technologies provide an ideal opportunity for industry organisations to build stronger international partnerships that contribute to national growth and global development.

The representatives briefed the minister on the Chamber’s initiatives over the past decade to promote trade facilitation, business-to-business engagement, women entrepreneurship, startup networking, artificial intelligence, research partnerships and sectoral cooperation among BRICS and BRICS Plus countries.
