Gandhinagar, June 9 (IANS) The Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise ‘Maha Aarti’ ceremonies at temples across the state on June 10 as part of a campaign marking the completion of 12 consecutive years of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to party leaders, the programmes are being held under the campaign titled “12 Years of Uninterrupted Trust, Development and Public Welfare”, which forms part of a nationwide initiative launched by the party to commemorate the milestone.

Sources said party leaders, elected representatives, and workers will participate in ceremonies at various temples across all districts and municipal corporation areas of Gujarat, in the presence of local residents.

“The events will include prayers for the long life and good health of Prime Minister Modi,” party sources said.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is scheduled to attend the Maha Aarti at Trimandir in Gandhinagar’s Adalaj at 7 a.m. State BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma will participate in the ceremony at the ancient Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar of Mehsana district, at 7 p.m.

Among other senior party leaders, state BJP General Secretary Prashant Korat will attend the programme at Devmogra, while General Secretary Aniruddh Dave will be present at Mata-no-Madh in Kutch.

General Secretary Ajay Brahmbhatt will attend the ceremony in Vadnagar, and General Secretary Hitendrasinh Chauhan will participate in the Maha Aarti at Pavagadh. All four leaders are scheduled to attend events beginning at 7 p.m.

The party said state government ministers, BJP state office-bearers, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, local elected representatives, party leaders and workers will also participate in Maha Aarti ceremonies at designated temples across Gujarat.

Sources further noted that a cleanliness campaign would be undertaken alongside the religious events. “In addition, a cleanliness drive and cleaning of statues of great personalities will also be undertaken,” they said.
