New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Harsh Malhotra on Sunday led the city BJP workers in tuning into the 136th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme at 6,450 locations across the city.

After the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Malhotra, along with the leaders and youth present, observed silence and paid tribute to the soldiers who were martyred in the Kargil War.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Delhi BJP President described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme as inspiring and said that on Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Prime Minister respectfully paid homage to the brave martyrs and soldiers of the country and remembered their indomitable courage and sacrifice.

Malhotra said that while highlighting India’s growing defence capabilities and self-reliance, the Prime Minister described the successful trials of INS Mahendragiri, the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket, and the Kusha missile as major achievements of the country’s scientific and strategic capabilities.

He listened to the radio show along with BJP National General Secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, Odisha MP Balabhadra Majhi, Yuva Morcha President Rajat Chaudhary, Office Secretary Kailash Jain, Amit Gupta, and hundreds of young party workers.

Rajan Tiwari, State Convenor of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, said that 6,450 ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programmes were organised across Delhi on Sunday.

Delhi BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Pawan Rana listened to the programme with party workers in the Outer Delhi district; State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal with workers in Delhi Gate Ward; General Secretary Yogita Singh with youth in Kalkaji; and General Secretary Mohan Lal Gihara in Madipur Ward.

BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri listened to the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in Aya Nagar Ward; Kamaljeet Sehrawat in Amberhai village; Bansuri Swaraj, along with Rajya Sabha MP Alka Gurjar, Satish Poonia and BJP workers, in Sarojini Nagar; and MP Swati Maliwal in the Minto Road area.

BJP MP from Chandni Chowk, Praveen Khandelwal, listened to PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme at Hotel IBS in Aerocity, along with more than 100 trader leaders who had come from across the country.

Malhotra said that through the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign, the Prime Minister has called upon citizens to save every drop of water, promote rainwater harvesting, and revive water sources.

“At the same time, the achievements of P.V. Sindhu and the Indian women’s cricket team, along with the outstanding performance of Indian students at the Olympiads, have made the country proud,” he added.

Malhotra said that by highlighting the successful launch of Vikram-1, the achievements of local artisans and women’s self-help groups, and initiatives such as ‘Waste to Wealth’, the Prime Minister has conveyed the message of promoting innovation, self-reliance and ‘Vocal for Local’.

He added that Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ attracts people towards patriotism, self-reliance, environmental protection, scientific thinking, and encouraging local talent.

This spirit of public participation will become the foundation for building a developed India, he said.
