Hyderabad, June 18 (IANS) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday charge sheeted a key CPI (Maoist) operative in a Special Court in Hyderabad for inciting a mob at the funeral of a deceased member of a proscribed terrorist organisation last year.

In the charge sheet filed before the NIA special court at Nampally, Hyderabad, Gade Innaiah alias Gade Inna Reddy has been charged under relevant sections of BNS, 2023 and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the NIA said in a statement.

The charge sheet was based on various technical and other evidence collected by the NIA during the investigation into case RC 04/2025/NIA/HYD, the statement said.

The NIA had found the accused, who was arrested in December 2025, to have made certain incriminating remarks at the funeral meeting of a deceased Central Committee Member of CPI (Maoist), Katha Ramachandra Reddy, in October 2025, it said.

Gade had incited a gathering of around 200 people at the funeral meeting by urging them to actively promote the ideology of CPI (Maoist) and never let the revolution die. The accused had also lambasted erstwhile CPI (Maoist) cadres who had surrendered their weapons before government agencies, said the NIA.

The NIA investigation had revealed that Gade was closely associated with several senior cadres of CPI (Maoist) and used to meet them in the jungle areas of Chhattisgarh.

He was further found to be actively involved in propagating the terror outfit’s ideology through a frontal organisation – ‘Bharat Bachao’, of which he was a co-founder, the statement said.

Earlier in a separate case related to Andhra Pradesh, three CPI (Maoist) operatives were charge sheeted by the NIA in a case relating to the supply of explosive materials and logistical support to cadres of the banned terrorist organisation in Andhra Pradesh.

All three were under various sections of the IPC, the Explosive Substances Act, and the UA (P) Act in the first chargesheet in the case RC-12/2024/NIA/DLI, filed before the NIA special court in Visakhapatnam.
