INDIA bloc’s future in dark, says BJP as opposition meets in Delhi on Monday

New Delhi, June 7 (IANS) Ahead of the INDIA bloc meeting scheduled to be held in Delhi on June 8, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday said the opposition alliance’s future was in the dark, while other BJP leaders questioned its unity and relevance, alleging that internal divisions had weakened it.

Keshav Prasad Maurya targeted the opposition alliance, saying, “The way the future of SP, Congress and Trinamool Congress is in the dark, the same way the whole INDIA bloc is in the dark. Whether they hold meetings or not, their defeat is certain from all sides, because they hold such meetings not in the public interest but for their own self-interest. Till 2047, take rest and come to the ground after Viksit Bharat is formed; they are in ‘Vanvas’ now, they can’t serve people, so they cannot have power.”

In West Bengal, BJP State President Samik Bhattacharya reacted to former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Delhi for the meeting.

“So what should we do? If someone goes to Delhi, Antarctica, or even Mars, what is it to us? They can also go to Ludhiana, Punjab, where elections are approaching, and they can also roam around Amritsar and visit the Golden Temple. So what should we do?…” he asked.

BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla intensified the attack, saying, “On May 4, it was the funeral ceremony of the INDI Alliance. There is no INDI Alliance in reality; it is on paper, it is in imagination. But every day, we can see that the INDI Alliance has no mission or vision, but a new division.”

“DMK is skipping the INDI Alliance meeting because Congress betrayed them. JMM and Congress are fighting over a Rajya Sabha seat in Jharkhand. And now the Left has written a letter to Congress saying that all kinds of allegations were made by Rahul Gandhi. Nobody wants to work with Congress,” he added.

The INDIA bloc meeting is scheduled on June 8 at the Constitution Club of India in Delhi, where opposition leaders are expected to discuss coordination, strategy, and preparations for upcoming political challenges.
