Consul General of India in Brisbane Neetu Bhagotia met University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Mazerolle to discuss ways to strengthen academic cooperation and expand education partnerships between India and the university.
During the meeting, Bhagotia congratulated Professor Mazerolle on his recent appointment as Vice-Chancellor and wished him success in his new role.
According to the Consulate General of India in Brisbane, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between Indian educational institutions and UniSQ through student and faculty exchanges, joint research, skills development and other areas of shared interest.
Both sides also explored opportunities to broaden institutional partnerships and promote greater academic engagement, reflecting the growing demand for international education and research collaboration between India and Australia.
According to the Consulate, Bhagotia and Professor Mazerolle reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening ties between India and UniSQ, recognising higher education as an important pillar of the Australia-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and a key driver of innovation, knowledge exchange and people-to-people links.
