New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India has accomplished several achievements across the field of security and ‘Atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in the month of June, filling every citizen with immense pride.

Addressing the 135th episode of his monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi said, “The first half of 2026 is about to end. In these six months, we have discussed many achievements of the countrymen. In June, too, India accomplished a few achievements which fill every citizen with immense pride. These achievements are related to the country’s security and Atmanirbharta.”

Recalling his recent visit to West Bengal, the Prime Minister said, “I got the opportunity to attend an event related to the Navy in Kolkata. There, INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray were inducted into the Indian Navy’s fleet. From the designing to manufacturing of these ships, everything is ‘Swadeshi’ (indigenous).”

PM Modi said that India has also achieved a big success in the aviation sector in June, which is the C-295 — a ‘Made in India’ aircraft.

“The first ‘Made in India’ Airbus C-295 completed its maiden test flight, and 40 such aircraft are being manufactured in India. The MEME and aerospace sectors are getting new strength from it, employment opportunities are being generated, and the vision for an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ is also gaining strength,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the successful flight-test of the indigenous long-range land attack cruise missile by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

“It was jointly developed by the DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners. It means, today, from sea to sky, our India has become more secure and ‘Atmanirbhar’,” he added.

PM Modi mentioned the International Yoga Day, which was marked on June 21 across the world, and said, “The entire world joined India in its efforts.”

“This year, numerous yoga programmes were held in over 2500 locations across the world. Crores of people participated in the yoga programmes at various locations in our country,” he added.

Speaking about the World Yogasana Championship, which was held in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister said it “created a lot of buzz during this month”.

“In this, India won a total of 114 medals, including 102 gold medals. India was on top in the medal tally of this championship. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the winners of this competition,” he added.
