Major IAS reshuffle in TN; several district collectors and senior officers transferred

Chennai, May 29 (IANS) In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government on Friday transferred and posted several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments and districts.

The large-scale exercise involved district collectors, departmental secretaries, commissioners, and heads of state-run corporations.

According to the official government order, E. Sundaravalli, who served as Commissioner of Collegiate Education, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary to the Government, Public and Rehabilitation Department. R. Lalitha, Managing Director of New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited, has been appointed Secretary to the Government (Expenditure), Finance Department.

District Collector of Tenkasi A.K. Kamal Kishore and District Collector of Kallakurichi M.S. Prasanth have been posted as Joint Secretaries in the Finance Department. R. Alagumeena, District Collector of Kanniyakumari, has been transferred and appointed Deputy Secretary to the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department.

Pooja Kulkarni, Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board, has been appointed Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise. V. Amuthavalli has been posted as Commissioner of Rural Development, while P. Ponniah has been appointed Commissioner of Collegiate Education.

Dr. T.G. Vinay has been posted as Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments. R. Kannan has been appointed Commissioner of Sugar while continuing to hold additional charge as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency.

Among the district-level changes, B. Priyanka, District Collector of Thanjavur, has been appointed Director of Town Panchayats. P. Akash, District Collector of Nagapattinam, has been transferred and posted as Madurai District Collector, while K.J. Praveen Kumar has been appointed as the new Nagapattinam District Collector.

Dr. R. Vaithinathan has been appointed District Collector of Theni. V. Saravanan has been transferred from Tiruchirappalli to Dharmapuri as District Collector, while Pratik Tayal has been posted as Tiruchirappalli District Collector.

Vandana Garg, on return from leave, has been posted as Tiruvannamalai District Collector. J.E. Padmaja has been appointed Kallakurichi District Collector, and N. Priya has been posted as Ranipet District Collector.

L. Madhubalan has been appointed Namakkal District Collector, while Anand Mohan has been posted as Tirunelveli District Collector. P.S. Leela Alex has been appointed Vellore District Collector, and R. Revathi has been posted as Thanjavur District Collector.

Dr M. Veerappan has been appointed Chengalpattu District Collector. K. Tharpagaraj has been transferred and posted as Additional Registrar of Co-operative Societies, while R. Sadheesh has been appointed Director of Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils.

In other major appointments, the services of Mangat Ram Sharma have been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Power Fin and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (POWERFIN) for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director.

J. Jayakanthan has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director of Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited, while E. Saravanavelraj has been appointed Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited.

The government also placed the services of P.N. Sridhar at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation for appointment as Managing Director. S.P. Karthikaa has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

Further, R.V. Shajeevana has been appointed Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation. Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, District Collector of Ramanathapuram, has been posted as Member Secretary of the Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust.

B. Ganesan has been appointed Managing Director of New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited. Ranjeet Singh has been posted as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited, while V.R. Subbulaxmi has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project.
