A man has been arrested over the alleged stabbing of a security guard at an elite Brisbane girl’s school, concluding a two-day manhunt.
Police confirmed on Thursday afternoon Khia Gribben, 25, had been taken into custody but was yet to be charged.
Mr Gribbin sparked a manhunt after allegedly stabbing 51-year-old security guard Darren Stribning five times in a Somerville House classroom about 5.25am on Wednesday.
Police believed he fled the South Brisbane school on foot before boarding a train to Albion, in the city’s north, and was last seen at Lutwyche Shopping Centre before his arrest on Thursday.
Three crime scenes were set up as police were told to be on the lookout for the man, eventually releasing his name, photo and CCTV footage.
Mr Stribning suffered several stab wounds to his upper torso and arms and had to undergo surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
