A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after a daylight assault at Bondi Beach, in Sydney’s east, this afternoon.
Unconfirmed reports from witnesses on social media said the man was set upon by three men armed with a bat and an axe.
Paramedics were called to the grass area at the northern end of the beach at 1.15pm to reports of a man suffering head injuries as a result of an assault.
He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The area has been cordoned off and police remain at the scene.
