My warmest wishes to the Australian Muslim community joining with people around the world in celebrating Eid Al-Fitr, and the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Emerging from a month of prayer, fasting and contemplation, Eid al-Fitr is a welcome celebration to gather with family and community, give thanks, share in your faith and to show compassion and kindness to those around you and to those most in need.
Throughout this holy month, I have been privileged to have the opportunity to gather with so many of you in breaking the fast, and to witness how you embody the values at the heart of Islam – gratitude, compassion and generosity – which extends beyond the month of Ramadan.
At this time of celebration and community spirit, I would like to convey my sincere thanks for sharing celebrations such as these with the wider Australian community. In doing so, you are providing opportunities for greater understanding and strengthened relationships across communities, building a stronger and more inclusive Australia for all.
As we continue to persevere through the challenges of the last two years, I hope that this year, Eid Al-Fitr provides you with the opportunity to celebrate with your family, friends and community once more.
I wish you all a blessed and joyous Eid Al-Fitr.
Eid Mubarak!
