Ujjain, Sep 15 (IANS) Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh is set to host a major national-level gathering from September 17 to 19, marking the presence of RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and BJP National President Nitin Nabin.
The city, regarded as a religious and cultural capital, will witness a series of significant programmes, including lighting of 25 lakh earthen lamps on the banks of the Shipra River and a three-day ‘Youth Dharma Sansad’, sources said.
Nabin’s visit is proposed for September 17, two days ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled programme ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ at Indore. The BJP president is likely to interact with youths in Ujjain and Indore. The party has not announced the programme details so far.
This will be Nitin Nabin’s first visit to Ujjain since assuming the post of BJP National President.
On the evening of September 17, lamps will be lit along the Shipra River as part of a ‘Seva Sankalp (pledge of service)’, creating a spectacular visual.
Speculation is rife that he may hold a crucial meeting with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat during the visit.
According to party insiders and office-bearers of RSS, Bhagwat’s visit carries both political and organisational significance. The RSS chief is scheduled to arrive in Ujjain on the afternoon of September 17. He will hold a special strategic meeting and address Sangh office-bearers and prominent workers in Ujjain. Later, he will address a large gathering of RSS volunteers from the Ujjain metropolitan area at the Mahakal complex in Arvind Nagar, the sources said.
On the morning of September 18, Bhagwat will address the youth at Gita Bhawan on Dewas Road and administer a pledge for nation-building. There is also a possibility that he will visit the RSS office ‘Aradhana Bhawan’ in Sardarpura, Indore, before departing on the morning of September 19.
A grand three-day ‘Youth Dharma Sansad (Youth Religious Parliament)’ is being organised at Gita Bhawan from September 17 to 19 by Sevagya Sansthanam. This is the inaugural historic event of its kind in the state. Stringent security arrangements have been made in view of the simultaneous presence of the two national leaders.
Traffic diversions and robust security measures will be implemented to manage the movement of the VIPs. The administration, police, and workers of the RSS and BJP have intensified preparations for the large-scale programmes expected to draw significant participation.
