Bhopal, July 16 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the redeveloped Tikamgarh railway station on July 17 under the Centre’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, according to an official statement issued by the Madhya Pradesh government.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will attend the programme in Tikamgarh and participate in the inauguration ceremony of the railway station.

He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 189 crore in the district and distribute benefits to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes, the statement said.

The Tikamgarh railway station has been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a flagship initiative of the Central government to modernise railway stations across the country by improving passenger amenities, accessibility and infrastructure.

The scheme aims to transform railway stations into modern, passenger‑friendly facilities while enhancing the overall travel experience.

Following the railway station inauguration, the Chief Minister will dedicate two newly constructed Sandipani Vidyalayas at Jatara and Baragaon Dhasan, built at a combined cost of Rs 67.81 crore.

He will also perform the groundbreaking ceremony for another Sandipani Vidyalaya in Khargapur, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 40.48 crore.

Besides these education projects, Yadav will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several other infrastructure and public welfare works in Tikamgarh, taking the total value of development projects being launched during the visit to more than Rs 189 crore.

“The Chief Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stones for development works worth over Rs 189 crore in Tikamgarh district.

The projects include educational institutions as well as other infrastructure and public welfare works,” the state government said in the statement.

The statement added that beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes will also receive assistance during the programme.

The visit will combine the inauguration of a key railway infrastructure project under the Central government’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme with the launch of major state development initiatives to strengthen education, public infrastructure, and welfare delivery in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh.
