Bhopal, July 2 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh on Thursday launched the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB-G RAM-G), with the state-level programme held in Jabalpur and similar events organised across all districts.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel attended the state-level launch in Jabalpur. Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Valmiki, public representatives and senior officials were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Patel said the mission will help strengthen employment and livelihood opportunities in rural areas while ensuring transparency in implementation.

“The mission is a unique blend of technology and transparency, which will strengthen good governance and encourage public participation in nation-building,” Patel said.

He said both the Central and Madhya Pradesh governments are working to realise the vision of a developed India by creating more employment opportunities and promoting self-reliance in villages.

“The mission will generate employment, improve livelihoods and create sustainable community assets in rural areas,” Patel added.

District administrations organised launch programmes, public meetings and awareness campaigns across the state.

Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives participated in the events and explained the objectives and benefits of the scheme. A live telecast of the national launch programme was also arranged in the districts.

Panchayat representatives, self-help group members, workers, beneficiaries and rural youth attended the programmes.

Officials informed participants about the key features of the mission, including a 125-day employment guarantee, digital implementation, transparent payment systems, technology-based monitoring and village-level planning. Exhibitions and information stalls were also set up at several places.

The state government said the mission aims to create more employment opportunities, strengthen livelihoods and develop durable community assets in rural areas through effective implementation.

The mission was launched nationally by Union Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mukkavaripalli village in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district.

Chouhan said the initiative would provide greater financial support, employment opportunities and infrastructure development to even the most backward gram panchayats.
