PM Modi’s vision behind jump in UP’s mobile manufacturing: CM Yogi Adityanath

Gautam Buddha Nagar, June 27 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday credited the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the state’s emergence as a hub for mobile phone manufacturing.

Speaking at a solar unit’s foundation stone-laying event here, Adityanath thanked the Central government for its support in boosting manufacturing in the state.

“I remember that for the development of a very large industrial city in Uttar Pradesh, we are developing a new industrial corridor of 56,000 acres between Kanpur and Jhansi. When we sent the proposal for environmental clearance to the Government of India and to Bhupender Yadav ji, he promptly completed all the formalities within the set time frame and also approved,” he said.

The Chief Minister also presented a contrast between the current law and order situation in the state and the situation before the BJP came to power.

“It is because of good law and order that Jewar has transformed from ‘Jungle Raj’ to ‘Mangal Raj’ today,” said the Chief Minister.

“With a robust law and order situation, separate sectoral policies for every sector, and a vast land bank of 75,000 acres, Uttar Pradesh is today inviting investors from across the country and the world,” he said.

Adityanath said that in the past nine years, the state has promoted green energy. “We are aiming to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy in the coming three years, increasing the output from the current 6,000 MW,” he said.

Apart from solar energy, the state aims to generate CNG, ethanol, or compressed biogas from crop residue in fields and prevent stubble burning, he said.

Highlighting the state’s ethanol blending capabilities, he said that after the policy was implemented, the state emerged as the largest ethanol-producing state, accounting for 55 per cent of total national production.

The implementation of the ethanol policy has also made our sugar mills self-sustainable and pulled them out of virtual bankruptcy, he said.

Adityanath said that in the past nine years, the UP government has credited Rs 3.22 lakh crore to the accounts of cane growers to clear their pending dues.
