Jaipur, Sep 18 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anuradha Singh is set to become the unopposed Mayor of Bharatpur Municipal Corporation after independent candidate Vichitra Singh withdrew her nomination in the presence of BJP government minister Jawahar Singh Bedham.

Following the developments in Bhilwara, BJP State President Madan Rathore extended his best wishes to Singh, stating that public faith and trust in the BJP continue to strengthen. With Vichitra Singh’s withdrawal, Anuradha Singh remains the sole candidate for the mayoral post, paving the way for her unopposed election.

Rathore remarked that this growing trust in the BJP is reflected in the party securing unopposed mayoral and chairperson positions in approximately 18 civic bodies. He said independent councillors in Bharatpur have decided to join the BJP for the development of the region, expressing confidence in the party’s ideology and the public-welfare policies of the Bhajanlal Sharma government.

He added that the alignment of independent candidates and councillors with the BJP indicates their desire to work alongside the state’s BJP government for regional development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is working with a focus on public welfare and development, Rathore said.

Rathore further stated that the support received by the BJP in Bharatpur would provide new momentum to the region’s development. He said the BJP is committed to working in the public interest with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all).

He added that not only in Bharatpur, but in several other places as well, BJP candidates are emerging as unopposed mayors and chairpersons. In some places, opposition candidates did not file nominations, while in others, independent candidates withdrew their nominations and extended their support to the BJP.
