Jaipur, May 20 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat to assess the supply and distribution of petrol, diesel and LPG across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary assured that sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG were available throughout Rajasthan and emphasised that there was no need for the public to engage in panic buying.

He stated that the situation remained completely under control and that regular fuel supplies were continuing uninterrupted through the country’s major pipeline network system connected to Rajasthan.

He further informed that the Central government had assured the state administration that no disruption in fuel and LPG supply would be allowed in the future.

To ensure transparency and effective monitoring, the Chief Secretary directed oil and gas companies operating in the state to release daily district-wise data regarding the availability and distribution of petrol, diesel and LPG.

He said that stock positions and supply mechanisms at the district level would be reviewed on a daily basis to prevent rumours and avoid any artificial shortage-like situation.

The Chief Secretary also instructed authorities to maintain strict vigilance over the bulk open sale of petrol and diesel in drums.

He stressed that monitoring systems would be strengthened further to curb illegal fuel sales and prevent leakages in the supply chain. The administration, he said, was continuously monitoring the situation closely.

Appealing to the public, he urged citizens not to pay attention to rumours or resort to unnecessary hoarding, as such actions could create avoidable pressure on the supply network despite adequate fuel availability.

Ambrish Kumar, Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, said that continuous monitoring was being carried out at the departmental level to prevent any illegal sale or black marketing of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state.

Senior officials from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), along with representatives of private fuel suppliers, the Petrol Pump Dealers Association and officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department, attended the meeting.
