Jaipur, April 15 (IANS) A review meeting was held on Wednesday at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Sandesh Nayak to ensure compliance with directives issued by the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission regarding the organising of IPL 2026 matches in Jaipur.

The meeting focused on ensuring adherence to all prescribed norms, particularly regarding spectator safety and essential public arrangements.

The District Collector directed representatives of Rajasthan Royals, the Rajasthan State Sports Council, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India to ensure strict and full compliance with the Commission’s guidelines.

He instructed concerned departments to make comprehensive arrangements for senior citizens, women, minors, and young children.

Special emphasis was placed on accessibility measures, including the construction of separate ramps for persons with disabilities, accessible seating, and dedicated restrooms.

Additional ramps were directed to be installed in the West Block area to facilitate easy movement for senior citizens and differently-abled spectators.

The Collector also emphasised ensuring the availability of match tickets at reasonable prices, establishing emergency response protocols, and providing free drinking water during day matches.

The District Supply Officer and Food Safety Officers were directed to regularly inspect food quality, hygiene, and sanitation standards at temporary kitchens set up at the venue.

To strengthen safety and emergency preparedness, the District Collector directed all departments to work in close coordination and implement a comprehensive action plan.

Instructions were issued to deploy ambulances with trained medical teams, set up medical kiosks at multiple locations, and ensure proper sanitation and uninterrupted power supply at the stadium.

From a security perspective, officials were directed to conduct thorough screening of spectators, ensure adequate fire tenders and firefighting equipment were available, and deploy Disaster Quick Response Teams comprising female volunteers, security personnel, and Civil Defence members at strategic locations for crowd management and emergency response.

Additionally, the Collector directed the establishment of a centralised control room for the event and emphasised effective traffic management to ensure smooth movement around the venue.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Collectors Yugantar Sharma, Mukesh Kumar Moond, and Ashish Kumar, as well as representatives of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Rajasthan Royals. Officials from the Police Department, Municipal Corporation, Medical and Health Department, Electricity Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Public Works Department, Civil Defence, and other concerned departments were also present.
