Rajasthan IAS reshuffles: Tina Dabi posted to Tonk, Ria Dabi moves to CMO

Jaipur, April 1 (IANS) Rajasthan witnessed a major bureaucratic reshuffle late on Tuesday night, with the state government transferring 65 IAS officers in one of the most extensive exercises in recent years. The new postings of sisters Tina Dabi and Ria Dabi are among the key highlights.

Senior IAS officer Tina Dabi has been appointed District Collector and District Magistrate of Tonk, marking her third stint as a Collector. She has earlier served in key districts, including Jaisalmer. Tonk is considered a politically sensitive and administratively demanding district, and the government’s decision reflects confidence in her experience.

In her previous assignments, Tina Dabi received recognition for initiatives aimed at reducing maternal mortality and improving the delivery of government schemes at the grassroots level.

Ria Dabi has been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister’s Office. She was earlier serving as a Sub-Divisional Officer in the field. Her new role will involve coordination on policy matters and administrative decisions at the state level. The move is seen as a step forward in her administrative career.

The reshuffle extends beyond the Dabi sisters. Collectors in 25 districts have been changed, and several positions in the Chief Minister’s Office have been reworked. The replacement of the Chief Minister’s Secretary and Special Secretaries points to a wider administrative reset.

According to the transfer list, Jaipur Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni has been appointed Secretary to the Chief Minister. He will also hold an additional charge as Secretary, Department of Information and Public Relations. Sandesh Nayak has been named the new Collector of Jaipur.

Ashish Modi has been posted as Collector of Sikar, while Mukul Sharma has been moved as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister. Sikar gets a new Collector after a gap of around one and a half years.

The exercise is being seen as an attempt to combine experience with younger officers in key roles to strengthen governance. The postings of Tina and Ria Dabi have also drawn public attention, with both officers continuing to remain prominent among civil services aspirants.
