Jaipur, June 9 (IANS) Acting on the directions of its headquarters, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a patwari red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,500 in Raiwana village of Neemrana tehsil in Kotputli-Behror district.

The accused, identified as Dharam Singh, Patwari of Dausaud Patwar Circle and holding additional charge of Raiwana Patwar Circle, was apprehended by the ACB’s Jaipur City-III unit during a trap operation.

According to the ACB, a complaint was received alleging that the complainant owned agricultural land in Raiwana village and had previously completed a mutation-related process after his sisters relinquished their rights over jointly held land in October 2025. For that work, the accused allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000, which the complainant was unable to pay due to financial constraints.

Subsequently, the complainant applied for demarcation of the land on May 22, 2026. The accused allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 for carrying out the demarcation work and an additional Rs 5,000 related to the earlier mutation process.

During the complaint verification, ACB officials confirmed the demand for a bribe. Following negotiations, the accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs 4,500 instead of Rs 5,000 for completing the land demarcation work.

Under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General-II Om Prakash Meena and the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Gyan Prakash Naval, a trap team conducted the operation and caught the accused while accepting the bribe amount.

The accused is being interrogated, and further legal proceedings are underway. The ACB said a case will be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and a detailed investigation will follow.
