New Delhi, May 8 (IANS) A day before the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in West Bengal, party leaders on Friday said it is the “second freedom” for the state after Independence. They also expressed optimism that the state will now move towards development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Notably, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the party’s first Chief Minister in West Bengal on Saturday.

BJP MP Raju Bista said: “This moment is even more important because the country has seen one freedom but West Bengal has seen two freedoms. One from the British, and the second freedom from the Congress, CPM, and Trinamool Congress.”

“Today, the people of West Bengal want to move forward on the path of development, walking step by step with the country,” he added.

BJP MP Jyotirmay Singh Mahato said the Trinamool Congress should “go on a tour”.

“Trinamool Congress was running its government with the people of only one community. But the coming government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, will be run with ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’,” he said.

Mahato also asserted that the people of West Bengal won’t accept Trinamool Congress anymore.

He said the swearing-in ceremony in Bengal will be a “historic” one.

Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva, said it is ‘significant’ for the party to form a government in West Bengal.

He claimed Bengal had been deprived of development and was instead being known for exploitation, and intrusion. “Now we will witness an all-around development under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi,” he told IANS.

Extending her best wishes for the new Bengal government, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, said: Due to everyone’s hard work, our government is going to be formed with such a huge majority. The ‘goonda raj’, atrocities, and politics of appeasement that have been going on in Bengal will now come to an end.”

BJP leader Debasree Chaudhuri said that in this election, the BJP has given opportunity to women from every section of the society.

“Whether they are women working in households, a woman whose daughter was a victim of abuse and murder, or those engaged in other occupations. Women from every class have been represented,” she mentioned.

BJP MLA-elect Agnimitra Paul echoed: “Our dream is to have a ‘Sonar Bangla’. Our responsibility has increased for all our voters, especially women, who have supported us.”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak alleged: “Whether it is leaders of the Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, or the Congress, the leaders of the INDIA bloc are completely disappointed and frustrated.”

“Under the leadership of the world’s most popular leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal will now move towards development,” he asserted.
